Deathbed

On Christmas Day the staff nurse gave him extra sugar in his tea, at least that’s what she said it was.  He wasn’t sure.

He felt his blood pump faster, he knew something was different, his dog appeared at the foot of his bed and disappeared.  A policeman appeared and wagged his finger and pointed towards the ball of light.

Solomon arose from his deathbed and walked into the viridian fluorescence.

The staff nurse cleaned the cup with great thoroughness and put it away at the back of the cupboard.  She smiled and thought about the reading of the will.
