The Hardest Time

The waves broke against the granite outcrop. The rain battered down. Lightning illuminated the darkening scene. Thunder followed, violently. The lonely silhouette braced itself against the storm. Closing in on the figure, plain to see, determination. Pan round, a ship floundering on the sea. Attempt after attempt. Safe harbour bound. Disappears below steel waves. Clamped and dragged down. The figure wilting. Loss, the hard master, takes its toll.
